City Growers

Our City Growers Program is a paid youth apprenticeship that trains and educates New Britain high school students through hands-on experiences in their community. City Growers work alongside staff in school gardens and classrooms, at farmers markets, and in the kitchen, gaining valuable life skills that they can utilize in future jobs. Youth learn basic skills in customer service, gardening, teaching, community engagement, and food preparation, all while gaining a greater understanding of how we can all work to cultivate a just and equitable food system.
